Dr. Daniel Royal was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina while his father was attending medical school and his mother nursing school at Wake Forest University. His father's service in the Air Force moved the family to Texas and then Oregon. Daniel started working in his father's private medical clinic in Eugene, Oregon when he was 14 years of age. At that time, he was worked in the lab developing thyroid tests and x-rays. Later, he worked in a homeopathic pharmacy for the Nevada Clinic of Preventive Medicine in Las Vegas, Nevada.
