Northrop Little League
Baseball Club & Equipment in Stamford, CT
In 2005, having been established in 1965, the Northrop Baseball and Softball League celebrated its 40th Anniversary! Its informal beginning was in the 1950's and early 1960's, when Glenbrook children played baseball every night under the guidance of Ray Magliola, who ran a baseball program for the Board of Recreation. There were no fences or dugouts, just many, many boys ages 6-14 playing baseball every night on three fields. One of the children who played with Ray in those days, Jerry Pia, went on to be the Northrop League's president and celebrated his 35th Anniversay with the league in 2005.
