Otto introduced its injection molded containers in the U. S. Market in 1983. In 1988 Otto invested $40 million in a new North American production facility to suit product demand. Otto in 1992 started producing cart lifters to better meet the automated collection service requirements of its clients. Rapid client acceptance of Otto's Multi-System Design (MSD) containers and accelerated market demand for product necessitated production capacity be expanded even further. As a result, Otto opened its 2nd manufacturing plant in Eloy, Arizona, in 2002 to improve lead times, enhance distribution and better control freight costs.
