Oyster Point Dermatology was set up in Newport News, VA in 1987 by Susan E. Mackel M. D. And her husband Douglas L. Nelson M. D. After serving as team members at The University of Virginia Department of Dermatology, their aim was to bring university-style medical treatment to our community. In 1998, our practice extended to include Z. Christine Marcuson M. D. A fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, expanding our services to include comprehensive skin cancer management through Mohs surgery and general dermatologic surgery.
