Incorporated formally 1971, the PPTG is a group of parents and teachers that work together to raise funds, provide programs, and make decisions that affect everyone at the school.
read moreEnrollment at Peralta happens through the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD). The enrollment window for the 2021-22 school year is November 16, 2020 through February 5th, 2021. OUSD enrollment information and application can be found here. By the middle of March you should receive an email specifying your child's school assignment, hopefully Peralta! Peralta is a small, diverse, art integration school in North Oakland. Each year we have 2-3 classes of kindergarteners, with a total of 14 classes at the school, grades K-5.
read moreOn April 4, 2005 the Peralta fifth-grade class interviewed Al Wood, who attended Peralta in the 1930s. Al's father, Walter Wood, attended Peralta from 1895 to 1899 and grew up on a farm beside present day Lake Temescal. Mr. Wood told students what school life was like over 100 years, as well as how Peralta got started. Al Wood's father, Walter Wood was born in 1887. He attended Peralta School from 1895 to 1899. Walter and his seven brothers and sisters lived on a farm next to Lake Temescal, where his stepfather oversaw the filtering plant that provided drinking water for Oakland.
