Howard's philosophy that "a company needs to make something" eventually led to Peterson Company opening a metal fabrication shop to begin building such diverse items as baby carriages and apple corers before finally becoming one of the largest grating fabricators west of the Mississippi. The company has always been based on having a quality, technically oriented sales staff and production crews to serve customers in the Rocky Mountain Region.
