Pet Helpers was established in 1976 by President Carol Linville after she read that 8, 000 pets were being euthanized each year at local shelters. It started as a weekly adopt a pet column. 30 years later, that column has evolved into Pet Helpers Rescue and Adoption Shelter, one of the foremost pet rescue organizations in South Carolina. Pet Helpers has slowly grown into a widely recognized, innovative shelter that offers caring solutions to the serious problems created by pet overpopulation.

Cricket was found exploring marshland along Hwy 17, so it's unknown if she has experience living in a home.
