Pittsburgh Yoseikan Aikido
Martial Arts Club in Pittsburgh, PA
In 1931 he started teaching at his own dojo in Shizuoka that would become the hombu (home) dojo for the composite art that he developed-Yoseikan Aikido referred to as Yoseikan Budo. A huge range of classes were taught at the Yoseikan dojo including Aikido, Judo, and Karate. For many years Mochizuki welcomed Uchi Deshi (live in students) from around the world who lived at the dojo and were dedicated to serious budo training. Mindful of the teachings imparted to him by Kano and Ueshiba, Mochizuki always emphasised in his teachings that the true purpose of budo training is the development of a person's character.
