No one knows better than Leslie Carretti the importance of having a place to call home. By the age of 37, she had lived in 25 different places and had traveled around the earth three times, meeting the Pope and the Dalai Lama of Tibet and learning to speak five languages. For 18 years she traveled, fasting in India, meditating in Hong Kong and mastering Tai Chi Sword, a difficult study of the martial arts. Yet despite the intrigue of the exotic lands in which she had been living, Leslie felt the need for permanence and found herself longing to return to Southern California.
