As the store continued to expand, he decided to open his 1st store front on Cumberland Avenue, at what is now a barber shop near Kinko's Copy. The repair shop was downstairs in what is today Raven Records. His grand idea to rent used instruments from a constant pool made it possible and affordable for all students to obtain quality band instruments. The original price was fifteen dollars for three months and included books, reeds, oils, etc. No one was turned away as long as there were instruments left.

read moreWe are open for instrument trial at Downtown/South Waterfront by appointment only. We have an easily accessible room for you to try instruments for purchase; we're disinfecting it after each trial and have a UVC air filter set up in the room. We will ask several questions before we schedule to narrow down instruments in your budget and needs. All instruments that are tested are swabbed with a disinfectant and quarantined for 3 days, which will limit some availability. We do ask that you please wear a mask outside the trial room and not to visit if you are sick.
