Russian Hill Bookstore is a popular, independently owned, general used bookstore. Owner Carol Spencer opened Sunset Bookstore in 1974 and in 2001 merged its inventory into her 2nd store in San Francisco, Russian Hill Bookstore. The store is popular with local artists, designers, architects, writers, and art collectors. Tourists are always pleased to discover the store as they walk the streets of 'The City' and are particularly excited by the extensive range of specialty greeting cards, best quality blank note cards, journals and presents.

If you have books to sell, we have a buyer on-sight six days a week and offer cash or trade. We carry a large selection of Sci-fi/Fantasy novels, new and old, in our Genre Room. It also houses our graphic novels and comics, mystery, thriller, pulp paperbacks, vintage childrens, design, mythology, film, and drama categories. We have a tremendous Art and Photography section!
