Sahara Dance, Washington DC's Center for Middle Eastern Dance, is a boutique dance studio committed to celebrating the joy and beauty of belly dance. Established in 2004, Sahara Dance provides over 75 weekly belly dance classes at five locations in DC, MD and VA. The studio is home to 20 faculty members, five resident performance firms, and over 600 belly dancers. Seeking to elevate belly dance as a performance art and to build a community for belly dancers, Sahara Dance produces several annual theater productions.

Participation in the student companies is for students with goals of developing performance technique, stage personality, ensemble dance experience and enjoying the camaraderie of dancing together.

read moreNew session starting! Join a cumulative 5-week class series (5 classes, 5 weeks) to strengthen your dance practice, get you moving, train with friends, and feel good in our bodies. Let's learn something fun and dance more together at home! Miss a class? No problem! Make up class in another class within the same 5-week session. Make ups can be done in advance of, or after, a missed class. Performance classes also have access to video recordings of each class for the duration of the enrollment period.
