The mission of San Ysidro Health is to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve with access for all. Originally established along the border in 1969, the organization was founded by seven women in search of medical services for their children. Fifty years later, San Ysidro Health now provides innovative services to more than 107,000 lives in our care through a vast and integrated network of 42 program sites across San Diego County including: medical and dental clinics, behavioral health centers, HIV centers, WIC nutrition centers, mobile medical units, school-based health centers, chiropractic services, pediatric developmental clinic, teen clinic, senior health center and Program for All Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).

San Ysidro Health's Center for Research and Health Promotion offers a variety of free programs to educate patients on how to manage their conditions, improve their health, and stay healthy. San Ysidro Health's cooking classes teach patients how to make healthy and delicious meals. We also offer special classes for pregnant women and parents of pre-school children.

Our cardiologist treats patients with various illnesses on a referrals-only basis at San Ysidro Health's main clinic. San Ysidro Health's medical providers may refer patients needing diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the human foot. Our podiatrist is available to patients needing these services, as determined by their primary care provider. San Ysidro Health provides comprehensive vision screenings, treatment, and prescriptions for eye glasses via referral from a primary care provider.

read morePediatric dentists are specifically trained to provide comprehensive dental care services to infants and children, including children with special needs. Dental services for children ages 6 months to 13 years include: routine and periodic dental exams; cleanings; fluoride treatments; sealants; comprehensive treatment services, such as fillings, crowns, extractions and space maintenance. San Ysidro Health also conducts outreach to pre-schools, elementary schools and WIC Nutrition Centers to provide oral health screenings and preventive dental care to young children.

All of San Ysidro Health's medical clinics have an in-house laboratory. X-rays help medical professionals determine if a patient has a broken bone, tumor, or other medical condition.

read moreSan Ysidro Health offers registered patients the convenience of obtaining their medications and other medical supplies (such as eye drops, ointments, sprays, diabetic supplies, etc.) from the San Ysidro Health Pharmacy or from the CHC Ocean View Clinic Pharmacy. The IVR system enables you to order refills, start contact with your physician when you are out of refills, and obtain pharmacy hours of operation. Please call 3 days before you are out of medication. Your order should be ready within 48 business hours.
