Santa Barbara's educational tradition is one of the oldest in the State of California. Its traditions are rooted in the eighteenth century Spanish era where historical records indicate that Santa Barbara had the 3rd school in the state. Santa Barbara High was set up in 1875, and moved to its present site in 1924. It was designated an official California and City historic landmark in November 2005. Santa Barbara High School actually started on the 2nd floor at the old Lincoln School site on East Cota Street.

There is no doubt that Santa Barbara High School, a California Historical Landmark, has a rich history and tradition and to be a part of it is very exciting. Santa Barbara High School has served this community for more than 130 years. As a Don it is important to become actively involved not only in our own school, but also to give back to the community in which we live.
