How long do I need to be out of my contact lenses? Please do not wear soft contact lenses for three days prior to your consultation appointments, and again for three days prior to surgery. If you wear rigid gas-permeable contact lenses, you will need to refrain from wearing the contacts for several weeks or - in some cases - for months, because of the significant impact rigid lenses can have on the shape of your eye.

It helps to know, though, what the differences between the two procedures are. Both LASIK and PRK laser eye surgery use a laser to reshape the cornea in order to improve the focus of the eye. Dr. Dale uses special instruments to gently lift that flap and then uses a second laser - an excimer laser - to reshape the cornea. The corneal flap is then replaced.
