Our dog walkers are spread out so that they can service the area closest to them. After leaving the corporate world in 2001, Kim turned her hobby of pet-sitting and dog-training into a career. Realizing the need for pet sitters in this area, Sit n' Stay was started in the summer of 2002. At Sit n' Stay, we use all positive reinforcement methods and stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and trends by attending conferences and seminars for both dog training and pet sitting.

Many dog walking & pet sitting companies, including some of the new national, "uber-like" companies use independent contractors instead of hiring employees. Why should this matter to you? Well by law, a business cannot train or guide independent contractors, and they cannot specify exactly how the business of dog walking or pet sitting is carried out. This means that it is the individual walker/sitter's responsibility to train themselves as little or as much as they see fit to complete the job.

You will have to be involved in all of the processes, but we have DIY (Do It Yourself) programs, programs that are DWY (Done With You) and others that are DFY (Done For You). So these programs are more of a "Done With You" program.

Contact us to see if if we can accomodate your schedule! The Pet Tech Instructor Training is a comprehensive, 40+ hour program that includes online modules and hands-on Instruction. Instructors will learn the necessary skills and teaching techniques to properly train Pet Parents and Pet Care Professionals in CPR, First Aid & Care. This course will include competent training in the identification and evaluation of the signs and symptoms a pet may develop and the appropriate actions to be taken for proper emergency medical treatment.

read moreIt's more than just doggie daycare! Think about a drop off program for your dog with less group dog play, but more structure and work on manners, games and enrichment! We find many dogs that did not fit well or were overwhelmed in a traditional dog daycare setting love the structure and mental enrichment of our programs. HOWEVER, our Dog School program is not meant for dogs with behavioral issues or aggression toward other dogs. Dogs must be able to be in a group setting (not necessarily interacting) and be friendly toward all humans.
