read moreThe AKC has approved the use of video to evaluate and approve Trick Dog Titles & the Virtual Home Manners Titles. The following link will take you to a page which covers this in more detail. From that page, you can go to a cart, pay for the testing and arrange to send your videos to an evaluator. We encourage all students/members/visitors to contact their Veterinarian for info on the Dog Flu vaccine. Dog Flu is highly contagious. We encourage that all dogs in their household get immunized. Students/members/visitors may want to bring in their own water bowl to class for their dogs.

read moreAll NEW students to Sportsmen's Agility Classes must fill out an application for agility classes. There is a WAIT LIST for most agility classes! 2. Do not sign up and pay for a class unless you have been approved to enroll by the agility director or instructor. 3. Existing students should not move up to the next level class unless they have been approved by the agility director or their instructor. 4. Dogs must be able to work off-leash in a distracting environment around other dogs and people.

read moreThis class is for handlers planning to compete in obedience or rally who want to develop attention and focused heeling in their dog. The class covers footwork, motivation, and working through distractions. I enjoy the classes so much, I don't want them to end! We will be definitely be continuing classes in the spring - this has been a very enjoyable experience and I have been recommending the club to everybody.

read moreSportsmen's Dog Training Club building is available for rental. The 9,200 sq ft building is conveniently located south off 1-696 at Dequindre Rd, just minutes from 1-75. The main room is 115' x 64' and features a double-layer rubber floor. There is also a meeting room and break room area. Air-conditioning and central heat offers climate controlled comfort in any weather.

read moreThe AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy dog training class is an exciting new program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. In Puppy S.T.A.R. you will learn how to teach your dog name attention, sit, down, stay, leave it, settle for exam, and coming when called. In the last week of this seven week class, your instructor will administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test. Upon passing the test, you'll get an application to send to AKC for enrollment in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program and receive the AKC S.T.A.R PUPPY MEDAL.

read moreThis dog training class offers more practice in the skills begun in Puppy and Beginner dog training classes. The Canine Good Citizen dog training class helps dogs learn to behave in ordinary, everyday social situations. Instruction is geared towards the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test given in the final week. Dogs passing the test may apply for the American Kennel Club sponsored Canine Good Citizen certificate. NOTE: If your dog tries to bite or has bitten a person, or lunges/snaps at other dogs, or you are not physically capable of controlling your dog, then a group class is not a suitable environment.
