Sun Ray Cleaners

N 1926, Mr. Herman Spector owned a tailor shop in Ft Benning, Georgia and as World War II neared, he ventured into dry cleaning and laundry as well. Business prospered and in 1947, Mr. Spector retired and his daughter Janis and her husband, Murray Robbins moved to Columbus from New York to take over the business. The business was 100% focused on Ft. Benning and as the Korean conflict intensified, business prospered. In the early 1950's, Mr. Robbins purchased land and built a production facility to handle the overflow from Ft. Benning.
