J. R. Tag Coolidge incorporated TALEM in Texas, as an environmental services firm, in 1976. More than three decades later, the firm has grown into an integrated, complete service environmental laboratory delivering field-testing services, sample collection and transport services, and laboratory testing services. Jennifer Carter, Mr. Coolidge's daughter, purchased majority ownership in the firm and became President/CEO. TALEM is now certified as a Woman-Owned Business (WBE) by the Women's Business Council Southwest, as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) by the Texas General Services Commission.
