Teacher's Pet includes trainers who are certified through the Certification Council for Pet Dog Trainers (CCPDT) attained by experience, testing, and continued education in the area of pet training and behavior. We use our experience and experience to supply positive solutions for problem behavior, as well as preventative training. We're committed to using positive methods to aid cats and dogs become great pets. All of us are dedicated to continuing our education, and partake in assigned book readings regarding their knowledge on behavior for application in classes.

read moreWe firmly believe that training should be a fun, low-stress experience for all involved (humans & pets), and we focus on methods rooted in positivity. We strive to find what motivates our pets (food, praise, petting, play, etc), and then we give them access to those things when they offer "good" behaviors. We will not use or recommend aversive techniques (choke chains, shock collars, etc.), as these have the risk of creating stress, fear related behavior problems and/or physically harming the dog.
read moreIf you are seeking private training at this time, virtual instruction is available as well as outdoor sessions for issues that may be addressed outside. We are limiting in-person indoor instruction as much as possible to comply with Dane County Public Health Emergency Order #10. Please contact us via phone or email to ask about options for private training for your pet. We understand your pet may not always behave the way you'd like, and they may be exhibiting problem behaviors. We are here to help you and your pet find a way to communicate with each other clearly and positively.
