Texas Towing
Towing Company in Fort Worth, TX
In 1989, Jerry and Jim Clay purchased a tiny standard size tow truck and began helping people recover their vehicles when problems would occur. They would take turns answering calls from stranded motorists until they could finally afford a 2nd tow truck. Later they purchased a truck repair shop situated in the 200 block of South Commercial Street near downtown Fort Worth. The Clay family continues to serve its clients out of the same location today.

Texas Towing - Warning
Recommended by MHC Kenworth. Called 'dispatch' was told that they would provide the service the next day, however we agreed to wait. The next day comes around, 'dispatch' calls our office and wants money upfront before the tow company would leave their yard for the recovery...? Anyone in the trucking business knows that a Kenworth shop would, worst case, issue payment when the recovery service is completed. We offered to pay Texas Towing a Comcheck when services were completed, however this tow company wanted to be paid 1st. Be very careful as there would be no guarantee that these folks would show up to recover your truck after payment, even though any major truck dealer would pay for the recovery as a fallback.
We plan to notify the MHC headquarters in KCMO to recommend dropping Texas Towing from their ‘recommended towing vendors list’ to minimize a hassle for other Kenworth customers.
We ended up using Beard's Towing, another MHC recommendation. Beard’s Towing provided the recovery as tow companies have for years.
