Toledo Country Club

The wonderful Clubhouse, constructed in 1897 by Henry Spieker and designed by George S. Mills has undergone so many changes in its long history. Having served as windmills and water pumps, ice- houses and horse drawn carriages, it is now newly designed, broadened and has been refurbished many times. At a stage, it was used as a bowling hall and also as an accommodation for workers. Surviving two wars and a big economic crisis the historic building expresses the story and pride its previously and recently registered members keep in their hearts.

Some people say that this is their other home. The place offers an elegant, friendly ambiance. It was chosen for the conduction of weddings and luxury celebrations and it looks like it is having his own life. Situated in the main hall is the 1792 (Marty) Cromb Family Grandfathers clock, only one among the lots of valuable items which can be seen in there.

Every member keeps priceless memories, connected with the club. They encompass the golf training, the house, the competitions, special social celebrations, the holidays, the weddings of their kids the list is endless. One thing is for sure - Toledo Country Club is a unique club and and has served as such for more than 100 years. It keeps many valuable memories for its people.

The Board of Trustees of Toledo Country Club has certified the establishment of a new committee with the place whose goal is to keep, save and develop" it for the members to come. It is named the 1897 Society after its the opening year. It is non-paid, available for all the members of the place, regardless of their age. The organization is founded around the idea of voluntary deferred giving.
