About Us
read moreDr. Van Natta graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1986. She was accepted to all three dental schools in Texas, but chose Dallas since most of her family and many of her friends were in Fort Worth where she grew up. She has practiced general dentistry in Irving since her graduation. She became interested in a career in dentistry working as an assistant and returned to school to become a dental hygienist. Her desire to provide quality dental care with gentleness and compassion was behind her decision to become a dentist.
Partials and Dentures
read moreDentures are probably one of the most widely recognized dental devices in the world. For those who have missing or decaying teeth, partial or full dentures provide a very real and viable option. Dentures - whether partial or full - are basically replacements for missing teeth that can be taken out and put back into the mouth at an individual's leisure. Unlike permanent dental prosthetics like crowns and bridges, dentures should not be left in the mouth 24/7. While they can certainly take some getting used to, they offer a wonderful solution for people who are missing teeth.
Extractions
read moreDental extractions are an extremely common dental procedure that are necessary for a wide range of reasons. Generally speaking, a dental extraction is the removal of a tooth from where it sits in its socket in the bone. While we rely heavily on our teeth for everything from chewing and biting to maintaining mouth and jawbone structure, sometimes a tooth extraction is unavoidable. One of the most common examples of a tooth extraction is when the wisdom teeth must be pulled. However, you may also require a dental extraction if you have a tooth that has been broken or damaged by decay, for example.
Root Canals
read moreA root canal is one of the most common procedures performed in dentistry today. For many people, the very idea of a root canal is cringe-inducing, but it doesn't have to be this way. Over the years dental technology has come a long way, which means that procedures that used to seem scary and painful are actually quite simple today. If your dentist recommends you to undergo a root canal, don't panic, this is an extremely common procedure that Dr. Van Natta has experience with. In order to ease your apprehension and concerns about undergoing root canal therapy, we are going to touch on why it is necessary and what you can expect.
