Preschool in Sunnyvale, CA Welcome to Windsor Academy, an applied research school for students ages 12 months to 5 years. While meeting standard preschool educational needs, we currently have created an unique science- and math-centric curriculum for our 24 months to 5 years old students, that is both age-appropriate and hands-on. For students between the ages of 12 and 24 months, we exercise an innovative developmental approach. Kids, especially of this age, are heavily underestimated. In reality, your child will learn more during preschool years than any other stage in life.

Support Services
read moreWe champion sustainable practices, starting with a fresh, healthy meal program for all students at no additional cost. The meal program is support that the staff provides, above and beyond, because we feel there are great benefits when most children are eating the same healthy food together. We also follow green policies, limit consumable products, and encourage families to walk and bike to school. We are open throughout the year, with backup care available during holiday breaks. We designed our year-round schedule with children's continuity of care and working parents' needs in mind.
Enrichment
read moreWindsor hosts a variety of enrichment programs to offer children social, physical, emotional, and cognitive growth experiences. Exposing children to learning and discovery early in life is critical because the brain is developing so rapidly. These experiences promote confidence in their daily lives and encourage children to try new things. Music and movement bring another dimension of beauty into our lives and benefit a child's development in many ways. They learn to be aware of movement and body positions.
Curriculum
read morePablo Picasso once said, Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist when we grow up. The goal of our Art and Architecture curriculum is to solve this problem by inculcating an appreciation for art within our students. To this end we explore the work of some of the Great Artists, not only examining their work but also learning to emulate their styles, mediums, and processes. We also visit art museums, where we use the Visual Thinking Skills curriculum to challenge the children to describe the art and the feelings it invoked in them, asking them to narrate what was going on in the paintings from their perspective.
Community
read moreAt Windsor, students, staff, parents, and alumni build a strong community through our events, traditions, and life-long relationships. The community's friends and families share their knowledge, skills, hobbies, multi-cultural traditions with our students. In addition to above, parent volunteers work with teachers to organize wonderful presentations and cultural celebrations for children almost each week year-round. These beloved school traditions celebrate each child as a unique individual, nurturing children's self-esteem and self-expression.
