read moreThe three churches agreed to unite in 1982. They formed a 70-member Commission for a New Lutheran Church, which planned the merger. We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God's grace. For us, as the ELCA, this faith comes through the good news of Jesus Christ and gives us the freedom and the courage to wonder, discover and boldly participate in what God is up to in the world. We are a church that is always being made new, and at the same time, is deeply rooted in Scripture, Lutheran theology and Lutheran confessions.

Zion is a place where God is truly at work building the church. Through our members we are able to draw upon a wealth of leaders, resources, networks, support, ideas, experiences, diverse perspectives and diverse communities for doing God's work locally and throughout the world. If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see everything has become new!

read moreWe welcome all youth from 7th grade to 12th grade to join us in pursuing how God is living within us, guiding us, and gracing us with God's *outrageous love.* FUN: Join us in monthly fun activities that build connections with our peers from all parts of the Salt Lake Valley. WORD: Join us during the school year on Sundays at 9:15am during Education Hour as we dive deeper into the Word. During this time, Faith Formation Disciples (7th-9th graders) meet to explore the Old Testament, New Testament, and Luther 101 before they make the Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation).
