Our History
Kim Sun Young HAIR salon / BEAUTY salon was started in 1956 in the center of Seoul city, Myeong-Dong ( 명동 ) with only three members. At that time, kneaded coal briquet ( 연탄 ) was used to heat up the curling iron. Our founder Kim Sun-Young devotionally shared her skills and ideas with other hairstylists who want to learn through KSY educational schooling.

Did you know that KSY first started the idea of the straight perm in Korea? Our founder Kim Sun Young invented the first straight perm by using mixed natural ingredients with kelp in Seoul Korea. She used flat plastic panels to hold the hair while special ingredients were applied to achieve the ideal straightened hairstyle called 'Panel Straight'.
