Hairdressing Course
Our comprehensive 1,650-hour Hairdressing program combines Cosmetology I & II instruction. Students master technical skills through 350 hours of foundational theory followed by 1,300 hours of practical salon experience. The curriculum prepares graduates for Alaska State Board Licensure through haircutting, styling, coloring, and waxing techniques.
Cosmetology I
This 350-hour foundational course teaches essential hairdressing skills including men's and women's haircuts, permanent waving, and haircoloring techniques. Students practice on mannequins with opportunities for live client experience through scheduled community service sessions.
Cosmetology II
Building on Cosmetology I, this 1,300-hour advanced training simulates real salon operations. Students provide services to public clients while completing state-mandated requirements. Flexible scheduling options maintain 40+ weekly hours for comprehensive skill development and licensure preparation.
Client Services
Our student salon offers professional beauty services at reduced rates. Clients receive haircuts, styling, coloring, and waxing performed under instructor supervision. Services include wash-and-blow-dry ($10), beard trims ($5), and specialty treatments starting at $25.
