Your Premier Theater Experience in Arizona
Arizona Theatre has been a cultural cornerstone of Arizona since 1967, dedicated to creating world-class theatrical experiences that inspire curiosity, spark empathy, and unite communities. As Arizona's Official State Theatre and the only League of Resident Theatres (LORT) member in the nation producing full seasons in two cities, we bring bold storytelling to Tucson and Tempe/Phoenix through mainstage productions, educational programs, and community initiatives. Our 58-year legacy includes over 350 productions, reaching 3 million patrons while nurturing emerging artists and providing accessible arts education to 130,000 annual participants.Under the leadership of Artistic Director Matt August, we maintain rigorous artistic standards while prioritizing community engagement through initiatives like our National Latine Playwrights Award and $1 student matinees for Title 1 schools. Recognized with Tempe's 2025 Nonprofit of the Year award, we continue advancing our mission to transform lives through theatre while preserving our historic venues at Tucson's Temple of Music and Art and Tempe Center for the Arts.
