Complete Fireplace Solutions for Central Iowa Homes
Chim Cherie House Of Fireplaces has served Central Iowa since 1978, establishing itself as Des Moines' original chimney sweep company. Over decades, the business expanded to become a full-service hearth shop, offering sales, installation, and design of wood, gas, and pellet fireplaces, stoves, and inserts. The owner, with over 40 years of industry experience, and a lead installer from Germany with 16 years of expertise, combine deep technical knowledge with personalized service. Their approach emphasizes meticulous attention to detail during installations and close collaboration with custom home builders across central Iowa. The company operates from a distinctive Victorian showroom in Des Moines' Ingersoll and Grand Avenues neighborhood, providing clients with hands-on guidance for fireplace operation and maintenance.Despite suspending masonry restoration due to staffing constraints, the business maintains focus on gas fireplace servicing for existing customers and comprehensive installation solutions. Their commitment to quality remains evident in custom Stoll door installations and adherence to safety standards using UL-listed stainless steel liner systems. The family-owned operation balances technical proficiency with a small-business ethos, ensuring tailored solutions for residential heating needs. Seasonal maintenance recommendations reflect industry best practices, advising clients to schedule inspections during off-peak months. This enduring local business continues to evolve while preserving its founding principles of craftsmanship and customer-centric service.
