Premier Martial Arts Training Since 1975
Chan's Kung Fu School has been a cornerstone of martial arts education in Grand Rapids, Michigan since 1975. Founded by Master Sam Hing Fai Chan, a Hong Kong native with decades of expertise, the school has cultivated generations of students through traditional Wing Chun, Jow Ga Kung Fu, and Tai Chi programs. Our mission emphasizes discipline, self-confidence, and physical/mental fitness for all ages, with specialized youth programs starting at age 6. The school's legacy includes certified instructors, international affiliations with martial arts organizations, and a commitment to preserving authentic techniques.

While announcing closure in December 2025, we continue offering in-person classes until November 2025 alongside permanent distance learning options. Our structured curriculum combines close-quarters combat training, Five Animal techniques, and low-impact wellness practices, supported by experienced instructors including family members Angel and David Chan. The facility maintains rigorous standards through scheduled classes, private lessons, and standardized uniform requirements.
