Worship & Grow with First Baptist Mobile
First Baptist Church Of Mobile has served as a spiritual cornerstone in the community since 1835. Our church blends traditional worship with progressive values, emphasizing freedom of conscience while upholding biblical authority. We are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive congregation that reflects the love of Christ through worship, education, and community service. Our historic Greek Revival sanctuary provides a sacred space for spiritual growth, while our outreach programs address both local and global needs. With a legacy of over 185 years, we continue to adapt to modern challenges while maintaining our core mission of extending God's grace to all people. Our ministries cater to all age groups, from children's programs to senior adult activities, ensuring every member finds meaningful engagement. Through partnerships with ecumenical organizations and secular entities, we strive to promote the common good in Mobile and beyond. Our Sunday and mid-week services offer opportunities for Bible study, fellowship, and prayer, broadcast live to reach wider audiences. As a self-governing congregation, we value democratic decision-making and reject authoritarian leadership structures. Services
Sunday Worship
Our Sunday Worship services blend traditional hymns with contemporary elements in a welcoming environment. The 11:00 a.m. service features choral anthems and biblical preaching that connects scripture to modern life. Childcare and children's church programs operate concurrently, while youth and adult Sunday School classes begin at 9:30 a.m. All services emphasize community building and spiritual growth through music, prayer, and scripture.
Bible Study
Weekly Bible Study sessions occur Sunday mornings and mid-week, offering age-specific and intergenerational learning opportunities. Our approach encourages open discussion while maintaining biblical authority, covering both foundational doctrines and contemporary applications. Materials cater to various age groups, from preschoolers to senior adults, with special programs for young professionals and families. These studies emphasize practical application of scripture to daily life.
Youth Ministry
The Youth Ministry provides Sunday School, retreats, camps, and mission trips for students. Our 'Refuge' space offers weekly social activities alongside Bible study focused on character development. Programs balance fun and spiritual growth, preparing youth for adult faith commitments. Special events include local service projects and annual mission trips that combine outreach with discipleship training.
Senior Adult Programs
Our Senior Adult Ministry (Happy Timers) combines social activities with spiritual enrichment. Members participate in local and international mission trips, Bible studies, and fellowship events. The program emphasizes continued service and learning, with travel opportunities and weekly gatherings that build community among retirees and active seniors in Mobile and Baldwin Counties.
Community Outreach
Community Outreach initiatives include local service projects, domestic mission trips, and global partnerships. We collaborate with ecumenical organizations and secular groups to address community needs through practical ministry. Programs range from weekly meal services to international mission opportunities, emphasizing Jesus' command to serve 'the least of these' as an expression of faith.
