Founded in 1989 by lifelong friends Jan Norton and Linda Stogner, Backdoor Comedy has become the longest-running stand-up comedy showcase in North Texas. Our journey began in a struggling pizza place where we built a stage from scratch, pioneering self-produced comedy shows in Dallas at a time when women-led venues were rare. Over 35 years, we've survived a fire, multiple relocations, and the pandemic, maintaining our mission to deliver authentic, creative comedy in an intimate setting.Located now in Richardson at The Line Public House, we feature a mix of local talent and nationally touring comics with credits from Netflix, The Tonight Show, and Comedy Central. Our legacy of laughter continues despite Jan's passing in 2024, honoring her vision of creating joy through comedy. With free parking and a laid-back atmosphere, we remain committed to providing unforgettable live entertainment experiences.
