Your Home for Worship and Community in Knoxville
Founded in 1911, Calvary Baptist Church has served as a spiritual and community cornerstone in Knoxville, Tennessee for over a century. Our history began in a rented house on Cornell Avenue before establishing a permanent home near the University of Tennessee campus. Through decades of neighborhood transformation, campus expansion challenges, and multiple relocations, we have remained committed to our mission of connecting people with Jesus. Our church community has grown to encompass six buildings across 17 acres while maintaining our core values of worship, education, and service. We offer multi-generational programming including Sunday worship services, community groups, children's ministries, student outreach, and global missions. Our members have demonstrated sacrificial commitment through building projects funded entirely by faith-based donations. Today, we continue to blend traditional worship with modern outreach through livestream services, family-focused events, and educational programs for all ages. Our legacy includes nurturing countless individuals in their faith journey, supporting missionary work worldwide, and adapting to serve both local and university communities effectively.
