Welcome to St Michael's Catholic Church
St Michael's Catholic Church has served as a spiritual cornerstone in Sterling Heights, Michigan since its establishment in 1974. Founded under the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit, our parish fosters a welcoming environment rooted in gospel values and hospitality. With a rich history spanning nearly five decades, we've grown to accommodate over 1,200 worshippers in our dedicated church building completed in 1978. Our community emphasizes active participation through diverse ministries, including Christian service, music programs, and youth outreach initiatives. We maintain strong ties with the Central Macomb Vicariate while collaborating with neighboring parishes to strengthen Catholic identity in the region. Through regular sacramental programs, adult enrichment courses, and family-focused religious education, we nurture spiritual growth across all age groups. Our dedicated pastoral leadership, including Pastor Fr. Michael W. Quaine, continues the legacy established by our founding pastor Fr. Lawrence J. Jackson. The parish supports vital community organizations like Habitat for Humanity and St. Vincent de Paul while maintaining modern facilities including the Fr. Larry Jackson Youth Center. We prioritize accessibility with hearing assistance devices and flexible participation options for both traditional and contemporary worship experiences. Our commitment to Christ's example drives our mission to build God's kingdom through service, education, and compassionate outreach.
