Trinity Lutheran Church: A Historic Faith Community in New Haven
Trinity Lutheran Church has been a cornerstone of faith in New Haven, Connecticut since 1870. As the oldest Lutheran congregation in the state, we are committed to sharing God's Word and Christ's love through worship, community service, and fellowship. Our historic High Victorian Gothic sanctuary, located just blocks from Yale University, welcomes individuals from all walks of life, including students, residents, and visitors. We believe in the Real Presence of Christ in Holy Communion and follow the teachings of the Lutheran Confessions while embracing both tradition and growth. Our mission focuses on joyful service to the Greater New Haven community through outreach programs, educational opportunities, and musical excellence. With weekly Sunday services at 10:15 AM and online streaming available, we provide accessible worship experiences for modern congregants. Our congregation includes lifelong members and newcomers who find spiritual grounding through our Bible studies, intergenerational programs, and community events. The church's architectural significance as a New Haven Landmark adds to its role as a cultural and spiritual beacon. We maintain active ministries for all ages, from Sunday School to senior outreach, ensuring every member finds meaningful participation. Through our dedication to Christian fellowship and community support, Trinity continues to be a vital spiritual home for over 150 years.
