Welcome to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is a Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) congregation serving communities across Iowas Cedar Rapids and North Liberty areas since the early 1970s. Our mission centers on connecting individuals with the Gospel message of forgiveness and grace through Jesus Christ, who we believe is the true Savior of all people. With two campuses strategically located to serve the Corridor region, we provide weekly worship services, Bible studies, and age-specific programs designed to nurture faith at every life stage. Our liturgical worship combines traditional elements with contemporary relevance, emphasizing both the Law to reveal sin and the Gospel to proclaim salvation. The church actively engages in evangelism through community events like block parties, trunk-or-treat celebrations, and outreach initiatives aimed at making faith accessible to modern seekers. Our dedicated pastoral team, led by Rev. Billy King, brings decades of combined experience in theological education and congregational care. We maintain strong commitments to discipleship through lifelong learning opportunities, from early childhood education to adult Bible study groups. The congregation values community connection through fellowship events, therapy animal visits, and service projects that demonstrate Christ-like compassion. Our facilities host regular youth programs, women's and men's ministries, and seasonal worship experiences like Advent candlelight services. With over 50 years of continuous service to the region, we remain steadfast in our vision to follow the Shepherd, nurture the flock, and seek the lost sheep through both spiritual and practical outreach.
