Your Trusted Source for Kansas Statehouse News
Founded in 1991, Hawver News has established itself as a trusted source for in-depth news and analysis of Kansas government and politics. Our founders, Vickie Griffith Hawver and Martin Hawver, combined decades of journalism experience from the Topeka Capital-Journal to create Hawvers Capitol Report in 1993, a respected non-partisan news service that became our flagship product. Over 30 years, we pioneered innovative reporting methods including real-time legislative updates and digital newsletters, serving policymakers, lobbyists, and engaged citizens. After selling our Capitol Report division in 2022, we are now developing Hawvers Still Booming, a new publication targeting Topeka-area Baby Boomers and mature audiences. Our work has been characterized by rigorous fact-checking, insider political analysis, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of journalistic integrity.
