CMHS (CMHS) has been a trusted provider of behavioral health and substance use treatment for over 50 years. Founded in 1975, we serve as the safety-net provider for Eastern Jackson County and the Urban Core of Kansas City, offering integrated care through 10 locations. Our merger with Burrell Behavioral Health in 2021 expanded our capacity to deliver trauma-informed, culturally competent services tailored to individual needs. We specialize in treating the whole person by connecting mental health, physical healthcare, and substance use treatment to achieve holistic wellness. Our team of licensed professionals provides outpatient therapy, crisis intervention, medication-assisted treatment, and residential programs for youth and adults.

CMHS prioritizes accessibility through walk-in crisis services, school-based programs, and telehealth options. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of care, evidenced by our partnerships with Genoa Healthcare and Swope Health Services. Our leadership team brings decades of combined experience in behavioral health administration and clinical innovation. Recognized as a regional leader in mental health advocacy, we work closely with schools, courts, and community partners to eliminate barriers to care.
