Lincoln Library stands as a cornerstone of community empowerment and lifelong learning in Springfield, Illinois. Since our founding, we have dedicated ourselves to connecting residents with the resources, knowledge, and opportunities necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving world. Our mission to empower, connect, and inspire drives every service we offer, from our extensive collection of physical and digital materials to our innovative programs for all age groups. We prioritize accessibility through initiatives like our Mobile Branch, which reaches all 10 city wards, and our home delivery service for those unable to visit in person. Our strategic plan emphasizes equity, ensuring every child gains educational tools, citizens engage in democratic processes, and technology bridges rather than widens divides. With a vision rooted in inclusivity, we foster spaces where diverse backgrounds converge, creativity flourishes, and no individual's potential is limited by lack of resources. Our commitment to modernization is evident in services like free WiFi hotspots, computer access, and digital lending platforms, while traditional offerings like book collections, research tools, and cultural events remain central. Governed by a dedicated Board of Trustees and supported by the Lincoln Library Foundation, we combine historical legacy with forward-thinking approaches to serve as Springfield's premier hub for education, connection, and discovery.
