CMHA-Family Based Recovery (CMHA) has provided compassionate behavioral healthcare for children, families, and adults across Connecticut for over 50 years. Founded in 1975, we pioneered integrated behavioral health and primary care as the states first Joint Commission-accredited Behavioral Health Home and a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). Our team serves over 7,300 individuals annually through evidence-based programs, including substance use treatment, residential care, community-based services, and wellness initiatives.

Headquartered in New Britain, CMHA operates 10 locations with a mission to foster healing, hope, and long-term recovery. We prioritize accessibility, cultural responsiveness, and innovation, exemplified by our mobile Wellness on Wheels program. With two 2023 CCBHC grants from SAMHSA, we expanded services for veterans, older adults, and justice-involved youth. Our leadership, including CEO Grace Cavallo, LCSW, emphasizes transparency, client-centered care, and community collaboration to address mental health disparities.
