Services
Wellness Exams
Annual wellness exams ensure pets maintain optimal health. For seniors, we recommend biannual exams and blood screenings to detect early signs of disease. Our comprehensive physical exams assess all body systems, including ears, eyes, teeth, and internal organs. We provide tailored nutrition and behavior counseling to support long-term wellness. Early detection of health issues allows for timely intervention and better outcomes.
Vaccinations
Vaccinations protect pets from life-threatening illnesses and zoonotic diseases. Core vaccines like rabies and distemper are required by law, while non-core vaccines are recommended based on lifestyle. We advise vaccinations for puppies, kittens, and adult pets to maintain immunity. Our team educates owners on vaccine schedules and potential side effects. Preventive care through vaccinations reduces the risk of infectious disease outbreaks.
Pet Surgery
We perform routine and advanced surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, and soft-tissue surgeries. Pre-anesthetic bloodwork ensures patient safety, and IV catheters maintain hydration during procedures. Our team monitors anesthesia closely to minimize risks. Post-operative care includes pain management and recovery guidance. Emergency surgeries address conditions like bloat, foreign body obstructions, and trauma.
Dental Care
Dental exams and cleanings prevent periodontal disease, which affects 80% of dogs and 70% of cats by age three. We perform dental X-rays to diagnose hidden issues and offer extractions when necessary. Anesthesia ensures thorough cleaning and patient comfort. Preventive care includes brushing guidance and dental diets. Maintaining oral health prevents systemic infections and improves overall well-being.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture treats chronic pain, arthritis, and neurological conditions using thin needles to stimulate energy flow. Sessions last 20-45 minutes, with effects often visible after 3-5 treatments. The therapy reduces inflammation, relieves pain, and improves circulation without medication side effects. It benefits pets with mobility issues or those unsuitable for surgery. Our certified practitioners tailor treatments to individual needs.

We absolutely love Carpenter and all the folks who work there. We foster for a local dog rescue and we take a variety of furry friends there. Everything from regular checkups to more serious surgeries the dogs have been treated with care, and we feel so comfortable taking the dogs to them. They are great with people too, showing us how to administer insulin to our latest foster and making sure we were comfortable with what we are doing.
They are very compassionate and take good care of the humans too when things are tough. I haven't had a bad experience with them, and even though we've moved to North Raleigh we still take our dogs there because we know they'll be taken care of. When a vet tech stops to give your dog some love on their way to pick up another dog in the parking lot you've found the right place.
