Worship and Community at Christ the King Lutheran Church
Christ The King Evangelical Lutheran Church has served the Billings, Montana community since 1966 as a member congregation of the Montana District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Our confessional, liturgical worship centers on Jesus Christ crucified to save sinners, with a strong emphasis on singing and studying God's Word. We recently completed construction of a new facility designed to enhance our ministry and welcome visitors. Our Sunday Divine Service at 10AM includes Holy Communion following Lutheran Service Book DS3, complemented by weekday Bible studies and educational programs for all ages. We maintain traditional Lutheran practices while embracing modern outreach through live-streamed services and digital resources. Our communion practices reflect careful adherence to scriptural teachings, requiring prior instruction and examination as outlined in 1 Corinthians 11. Visitors receive warm hospitality, with opportunities for baptismal blessings and pastoral conversations. Our congregation combines historical liturgical traditions with contemporary ministry approaches to serve both long-time members and newcomers. We prioritize proper pastoral care and spiritual well-being through structured communion practices and personalized attention. Our mission remains focused on proclaiming Christ's saving work while maintaining doctrinal integrity as defined in the Book of Concord of 1580.
