OBI Karate School of Virginia

OBI Karate school of Virginia Beach has been teaching karate to students of the Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Chesapeake areas since 1968 when Sensei Smith opened the school. Sensei Smith learn Shorin-ryu Karate while in Okinawa, and began teaching it in the same manner as he learned in, in the manner it was intended to be taught. Our goal isn't to produce black belts, but to produce karate-ka who are skilled in the art of Karate, are humble and sure of their abilities. Though we compete in tournaments our objective isn't about earning points in competition.
