Were very happy with the work 3rd Gen Painting and Remodeling did on our basement in summer 2019. From the start, they seemed to understand what we were asking for, which was a nice and functional basement (with bedroom, bathroom, bar, and theater area) but not necessarily top of the line. The offer they provided was competitive and in our price range, while other groups we spoke with provided estimates that were 20-30% higher. Matt and his team stayed true to their initial estimate and any time that we opted for something outside of the original contract, Matt was very clear about what the additional cost would be and provided an addendum.

They finished the project on time and the quality of work is amazing. Some of the unique things we asked for included - 1) a patterned tile floor in bathroom, 2) wallpaper behind the bathroom vanity for a feature wall, 3) brick backsplash behind our bar, and 4) long butcher block bar countertops. One of the things we appreciated most was Matt and Pauls responsiveness - any time we had concerns/feedback, we were able to get ahold of them that day.

They took calls after hours and on the weekend, which was important for us because we both work full time. They were also receptive to concerns or new ideas that came up during the project, and were focused on making us happy with the end result. Wed recommend them and use them in the future, and are happy to elaborate if Matt/Paul use us as a reference.

We chose 3rd Gen because our neighbors recommended them. Matt and his team did a really nice job refinishing our deck and re-screening our porch. The guys worked over 12 hours a day to get the job done. Matt painted a swatch of the color I picked for the porch and when I didn't like it he was happy to bring me more options so that we could choose another color that we really liked. We got another quote as well and their price was right on. We were really happy that we chose them and would recommend 3rd Gen to others.

I contracted 3rd Gen painters to repair and paint the exterior trim and fascia of my home this past month and am very pleased with the work they did. A wonderful experience with the entire team. The estimate was accurate. The painting crew came on time, fixed rotten wood, woodpecker holes and did a great job painting. They were also great communicators during the project. The individual painters were hard working and also took pride in doing good work. We would hear them happily talking at the end of each day! Very good experience with 3rd Gen with painting our tudor-style home. Initally, Andre came out and did a very thorough inspection and discussed various options. Estimate seemed reasonable and on par with other local companies. Despite challenging weather and working around a holiday week/weekend, the crews were great. Very friendly, kept the yard and plants clean and cleaned up every evening. They found some water damage to a portion of stucco and did a fantastic job removing and replacing it to blend in perfectly. Also, did a great job painting the wood trim, exterior walls and soffits/fascia. The final product came out just as we hoped.

Andre provided an accurate quote. The project was performed at the scheduled time The crew is respectful, neat and does quality work. They can do more than just paint and did minor fix ups outside. I will use them again for future projects and highly recommend.

I was looking for a house painting contractor in Chicago this past fall and found 3rd Gen Painting in Western Springs during an online search. After reading some of their stellar house painting reviews on Yelp, I called them to set up an interior painting and drywall estimate at my home in Hinsdale. Andre, the owner stopped by the very next day. He was extremely professional and provided some really valuable insight on the causes of the damaged drywall sections on my ceilings.

His painting estimate was incredibly detailed and was priced right along the lines of the other painting bids I had received. During the painting project, 3rd Gen's interior painters were just as detailed and professional as Andre had been with the estimate. Their painting work was impeccable and they were always extremely friendly and accommodating during the entire interior painting project. What really impressed me was how happy and positive the entire crew was during the project.

There was a ton of tough prep and patching work to do but every step of the way they kept a smile on their faces and genuinely enjoyed working together as a team. It was refreshing to work with professional painters that really wanted to do a great job and had fun doing it. Not something you see every day. The cleanup at the end was as detailed as the painting.
