Services
Rug Cleaning
Our traditional hand-washing process removes deep soil and odors from Oriental, Persian, and natural fiber rugs. Using pH-balanced solutions, we ensure no sticky residues remain. This service revitalizes colors and extends rug lifespan while maintaining structural integrity through gentle, manual techniques.
Rug Repair
Hand-stitched repairs address moth damage, frayed edges, and structural wear in antique and modern rugs. Our Portland workshop specializes in fringe restoration and reweaving, using matching fibers to preserve authenticity. Early intervention prevents costly deterioration while maintaining collectible value.
Rug Pads
Custom-cut vinyl-backed pads protect hardwood floors and prevent rug slippage. Our recyclable felt pads absorb foot traffic stress, resist pet accidents, and allow easy cleaning. Proper padding extends rug life by reducing wear on both the rug and underlying surfaces.
Drop Off Cleaning
SE Portland location offers no-appointment rug drop-off and pickup. Customers receive immediate evaluations and pricing estimates. The facility provides off-street parking and quick processing, with typical turnaround times of 7-10 business days depending on repair needs.
Pet Urine Removal
Specialized enzymatic treatments penetrate rug fibers to eliminate pet odors at their source. This process removes both stains and biological residues without damaging dyes or fibers. Post-treatment inspection ensures complete odor neutralization and fabric safety.

I've been a customer of Renaissance Rug Cleaning for many years. I trust them to take care of my rugs. I've recently been back to get my rugs cleaned after dealing with frequent urination on my rugs by my two dogs. My efforts to clean it up only seem to make it worse and the smell was unbearable. Whenever people came over I apologized for the urine smell. After being cleaned by Renaissance Rug Cleaning, my rugs and my house no longer smell like dog pee and I feel confident inviting people over again.

We have had numerous antique carpets cleaned by Renaissance over the last several months - some very delicate - and all have come out completely revitalized, refreshed and beautiful. Randy and the team at Renaissance are extremely knowledgeable about fine carpets, their dyes, how they are constructed, and how to clean and care for them. They are adept at repairs as well, spotting existing problems and identifying potential trouble spots that need preventative attention.

They clearly care about their work - and every carpet that comes into their store. We enjoy visiting them and discussing carpets and their origins, and viewing some of the fine pieces in Randy's collection. Renaissance is an excellent family-run business with a personal touch. We highly recommend them!

I have been using Renaissance Rug Cleaning since moving to Portland ten years ago. They are great. I just 8 rugs (up to 10 X 12) cleaned with no problems or complaints. They picked up the rugs for cleaning and laid them back down within two weeks.

Our labrador decided that our area rug would make a tasty meal and chewed at least nine areas of our decorative 8 X 11 rug. When Renaissance returned the rug to us, it was impossible to find the ares that had been repaired. They did an excellent job. Sadly, they declined an offer to take our dog. I highly recommend Renaissance Rug for damaged rugs. They made our rug like new.

Renaissance Rug Cleaners are fabulous to work with. Very knowledgeable about how to care for your rugs. I brought in 4 rugs that had been stored dirty for over a decade and they came back looking great! They even did a few minor repairs that I couldnt even tell had been repaired. Ill be using this company from now on for sure!

We have been so pleased with all the services from Renaissance Rug Cleaning. We live in Washougal, WA and have some oriental rugs of a large size that are too difficult for us to move, transport and reset after cleaning. Renaissance is willing for a very nominal fee to delivery the rug after cleaning and place in the room where it has come. We also have used them to repair two rugs that belonged to my grandmother so much be over a hundred years old.

They did on both of these rugs a beautiful job: one needed work on binding and the other needed some thin, weak areas rewoven. You will not be disappointed with their work or service ---- very pleasant family people with which to deal.

This is a wonderful, family owned business. They use a non-toxic process to clean rugs, and are very friendly and easy to work with. The colors in the oriental recently inherited from my mother really "pop" after cleaning. Highly recommended!

The Turkish rug that I brought to Renaissance Rug Cleaning had numerous rips and holes in it. It has a lot of sentimental value, but I wasn't very hopeful that it could be made new again. Renaissance Rug Cleaning worked miracles with it! It looks amazing and the price was extremely reasonable.
