Pettit National Ice Center

Established in 1992, the Pettit National Ice Center has served as a premier destination for ice skating, hockey, and athletic development in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As an Official Training Site for US Speedskating, we have played a pivotal role in preparing athletes for Olympic competition, including five-time gold medalist Bonnie Blair Cruikshank and Shani Davis. Our facility features a world-class speed skating oval, two international-size hockey rinks, and a running/walking track, hosting regional, national, and international competitions annually. We offer comprehensive programs for all skill levels, from learn-to-skate classes for beginners to elite training for competitive athletes. Our commitment to community engagement is evident through public programming, summer sports camps, and event spaces that serve over 430,000 visitors annually.

The center operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, sustaining operations through public programs, sponsorships, and charitable contributions. Our legacy of speed skating in Milwaukee dates to the 1960s, culminating in the first enclosed Olympic oval in the United States. We pride ourselves on maintaining state-of-the-art facilities while fostering Olympic aspirations and providing accessible recreational opportunities. Our team combines decades of experience in athletic training, event management, and facility operations to deliver exceptional service. Through partnerships with local organizations and corporate sponsors, we continue to strengthen our role as a vital community asset.
