Services
Green Building Consulting
Our Green Building Services team empowers communities through sustainable development, collaborating with developers to construct healthy, affordable, and resilient buildings. We support projects from design through certification, serving as sustainability consultants on new construction and rehab projects seeking green building certification. Our staff hold 16 different green building certifications and provide comprehensive services including energy modeling, design review, and verification testing.
Decarbonization Planning
We develop data-driven decarbonization plans for multifamily buildings that align capital improvements with long-term fossil fuel elimination. Our Zero Over Time protocol enables property owners to transition buildings off fossil fuels while maintaining affordability. This includes deep energy retrofit scoping, renewable energy integration, and financial feasibility analysis for 10-year implementation timelines.
Energy Efficiency Retrofits
Our team conducts ASHRAE Level II audits and develops comprehensive retrofit plans for existing buildings. Services include energy and water efficiency upgrades, heating system conversions, lighting improvements, and cost-benefit analysis of building system options. We've completed retrofits for over 7,500 buildings, focusing on affordability preservation and operational cost reduction.
Passive House Certification
We provide Passive House consulting and certification services through our team of CPHC and Phius Verified Raters. Our expertise includes thermal envelope optimization, air sealing details, and energy modeling to meet PHIUS+ 2015 standards. We've delivered 22 Phius Final Certified buildings and 26 Design Certified projects, including the first Phius multifamily building in Plymouth County.
Resiliency Audits
Our resiliency assessments evaluate buildings' vulnerability to climate change impacts like flooding and extreme heat. We develop actionable recommendations for infrastructure improvements that enhance durability and safety while reducing recovery costs. Services include portfolio-level risk analysis, floodplain mitigation planning, and climate adaptation strategies for affordable housing portfolios.
