French Language & Cultural Center in Portland
Founded in 1937, Alliance Francaise De Portland is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting French language and francophone cultures through education and cultural engagement. As the only Alliance Franaise in Oregon, we offer French classes for all ages and skill levels, taught by certified native-fluent instructors using immersive, oral-based methodologies. Our programs include core language courses, specialty workshops, youth programs, and private lessons designed to develop comprehensive language proficiency. Beyond education, we foster community through cultural events like wine tastings, film festivals, literary evenings, and art exhibitions that connect Francophones, Francophiles, and local arts audiences.

With a 80-year legacy in Portland, we combine global standards from our international network with localized programming to create a dynamic hub for French language and culture. Our facilities include a historic Kamm House location with dedicated classrooms, a French library, and event spaces supporting both educational and cultural missions.
