Free Medical Services for Low-Income Patients in Portland
North By North East Community was founded in 2006 through a partnership between Dr. Jill Ginsberg and the late Pastor Mary Overstreet Smith. Our mission focuses on providing free medical care to low-income adults, particularly those without insurance coverage. We specialize in managing chronic illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, and asthma while offering evening hours to accommodate working patients. As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, we rely on community donations and volunteer support to maintain operations.

Our team combines decades of public health expertise with deep community engagement to address healthcare disparities in Northeast Portland. We prioritize accessibility through free services, eliminating financial barriers that prevent vulnerable populations from receiving necessary care. Our founders' commitment to social justice continues to guide our approach to community health services.
