Your Unified Network for Oklahoma Community Theatres
Founded in 1970, we are the first statewide community theatre association in the United States. Our organization was established with support from 14 founding theatre groups across Oklahoma, many of which remain active today. We serve as a unifying network for community theatres statewide, fostering communication and collaboration among theatre professionals and volunteers. Through signature events like OCTAFest and Youth Conference, we provide platforms for artistic excellence and professional development. Our biennial OCTAFest festival connects Oklahoma theatres with national adjudication opportunities, while our Youth Conference offers intensive theatrical training for students.Governed by an elected Board of Directors, we maintain active membership in the American Association of Community Theatres. Over our 50+ year history, we have earned recognition including the Governor's Arts Award and National Distinguished Merit Award. Our dedicated volunteers and board members work tirelessly to advance community theatre excellence across Oklahoma and beyond.
